Physician orders & e-prescription
Computerized physician order entry and electronic prescribing, linked straight to pharmacy and stock.
- Electronic prescription initiated at the encounter, received live at the pharmacy
- Drugs colour-coded for NHIA essential list, near-expiry and out-of-stock status
- One-click imaging and laboratory requests from the same order screen
- Dosage, frequency and duration captured in structured, reportable form
Orders placed by a physician move straight to the department that needs to act on them: no paper request slips, no re-keying at the pharmacy or lab.
What’s included
Prescriptions are searched and added from a shared pharmacopoeia, with colour cues showing which items are in the NHIA essential drug list, approaching expiry, or currently out of stock, so a physician can adjust a choice before it becomes a problem at dispensing. Imaging and laboratory orders follow the same pattern: a request raised during an encounter appears immediately in the receiving department’s queue, tagged with the clinical indication.
